Merck gets caught in their own web of lies

Merck suspends lobbying for vaccine...This is Why
Merck & Co., bowing to pressure from parents and medical groups, is immediately suspending its lobbying campaign to persuade state legislatures to mandate that adolescent girls get the company's new vaccine against cervical cancer as a requirement for school attendance.

THIS IS WHY>>>>>>
From the National Vaccine Information Center:..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
In an analysis of reports made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) since the CDC's July 2006 universal use recommendation for all young girls, NVIC found reports of loss of consciousness, seizures, joint pain and Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
and:
"The most frequent serious health events after GARDASIL shots are neurological symptoms," said NVIC Health Policy Analyst Vicky Debold, RN, Ph.D. "These young girls are experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, temporary loss of vision, slurred speech, fainting, involuntary contraction of limbs (seizures), muscle weakness, tingling and numbness in the hands and feet and joint pain. Some of the girls have lost consciousness during what appears to be seizures."
Merck also states that "The duration of immunity following a complete schedule of immunization with GARDASIL has not been established."
Now let me ask you a question: Do you think it's ethical to force young women to become a trial study group for long-term effects?
HPV Vaccination is a genetically altered Live Virus.
Little research has been done.
There are at least 127 strains of HPV known and the vaccine claims it helps prevention in only 4 of those strains. To state that it is a cervical cancer prevention is a misstatement.
Has Severe Adverse reactions that are now coming to light as vaccine is now being introduced which are now at alarming numbers considering it has only been out since June, 2006.

New Reports:
Dr. Mercola's Comment:Texas is now the first state to require girls to receive the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine Gardasil. Not surprisingly, Merck, the vaccine's maker, has been lobbying there intensely; in fact, a key Merck lobbyist, a man named Mike Toomey, actually served as the governor's chief of staff, and Merck contributed $6,000 to Governor Perry's successful reelection campaign.Merck has been lobbying in 18 states across the country. So, if you're thinking that this only applies to people in Texas, think again. The lobbyists have likely been hard at work in your state too!In case you aren't familiar with HPV, it's a sexually transmitted disease that's virtually 100 percent avoidable without a vaccine.Additionally, most cases of the infection clear up on their own. HPV can be overcome by means such as adequate sunlight exposure and vitamin D consumption, supplementation with probiotics, adequate intake of selenium and zinc, increased consumption of trace minerals and iodine, and regular physical exercise. The Gardasil vaccine, however, has only been on the market since June 2006, and there are already 82 reports of serious adverse events filed with the FDA following the administration of this vaccine. You can also help spread the word about this worthless vaccine by writing letters to your local newspapers and calling in to voice your opinion on TV and radio shows. Consumer advocacy group PROVE (Parents Requesting Open Vaccine Education) has put together a useful list of talking points for those who are interested. Also, in another positive move, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) will be sending a letter of opposition to the Texas governor. It's being signed by a newly formed coalition of medical, taxpayer, privacy, civil liberties, health freedom, and good government groups called the "Hands Off Our Kids Coalition." The major reasons for their objections to the HPV vaccine mandate are straightforward and right on target:1. This vaccine mandate violates parental rights, informed consent, and privacy 2. The efficacy and safety of this specific vaccine are unproven 3. It is an unjustified expansion of the taxpayers' burden 4. It constitutes an unwarranted overreaching of executive power 5. It violates sunshine-in-governmentOn Vital Votes, Stephen from Fairmont, West Virginia points out:"CNN calls the HPV vaccine a 'stunning advance in medical science'. As proof they cite the fact that 6 million women contract HPV every year and 3700 die from cervical cancer. Doing the math, we find that 99.9375% or 1 in 1600 women contracting HPV do not contract cervical cancer. The safest vaccine on the planet is far more dangerous than 1 in 1600 adverse reactions."Aspirin is almost as dangerous as cervical cancer as thousands die from aspirin poisoning every year caused by intestinal bleeding and overdosing. 20-40,000 people a year go on dialysis from Tylenol poisoning. Tylenol is 10 times more dangerous than the HPV virus. The medical establishment can't count."
As of today with an interview with Cathy Adams "President of Texas Eagle Forum" new FDA reports of adverse reactions have reached a number of over 300.
Here are 10 reasons why we are skeptical about efforts to mandate for school girls the HPV vaccine against the sexually transmitted cervical-cancer virus.10. Merck and Co. (the manufacturer of the vaccine) has funneled money through Women in Government, an advocacy group made up of female state legislators around the country.9. Sen. Connie Lawson, the General Assembly's No. 1 advocate for the vaccine, is a member of Women in Government.8. A top official from Merck's vaccine division sits on Women in Government's business council.7. Women in Government President Susan Crosby, a former Indiana state legislator, said the vaccine could "eliminate a cancer." Yet Gardasil, is NOT a cancer vaccine. It is a vaccine for a virus; specifically for four of the more than 100 types of HPV, two of which cause 70 percent of cervical cancer in women, and two that cause 90 percent of genital warts.6. Merck could generate billions in sales if Gardasil - at $360 for the three-shot regimen - were made mandatory across the country. Depending on how many girls are Medicaid-eligible in each state, much of that money could come from Medicaid dollars - even if the vaccine is recommended, not mandated.5. The top 10 leading killers of women in the U.S. are heart disease, stroke, lung cancer (more than 70,000 deaths of women per year), respiratory diseases, Alzheimer's, breast cancer, diabetes, accidents, flu/pneumonia and colon cancer. About 3,700 U.S. women die of cervical cancer each year; that is about 1/8th of the number of women who die from colon cancer, the No. 10 killer of U.S. women.4. Because the vaccine was only studied for 3 1/2 years, the long-term effectiveness and safety of this vaccine has yet to be determined. It took years for thalidomide and Vioxx (also a Merck product) to demonstrate their most negative side effects.3. Pap smears have dramatically reduced cervical cancer deaths in the U.S. But Gardasil does not protect against all cancers of the cervix. If the number of Pap smears go down because of women's false sense of security, the number of cervical cancer deaths could go UP!2. Scarce health care dollars should be spent in the most effective way possible. We believe an investment of billions could be better spent in efforts to battle the top 10 killers of women. (See No. 6 and No. 5.)1. With an issue as "murky" as this, our little girls should not be guinea pigs.OUR VIEW is written on a rotating basis by Grace Housholder, Dave Kurtz, Matt Getts and Michael Marturello. Three words: Negative Side Effects. The Washington Times reports additional concerns about negative side effects from the vaccine reported in 20 states. The article quotes Vicky Debold, health policy analyst for the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), who notes, "Young girls are experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, temporary loss of vision and some girls have lost consciousness during what appear to be seizures." NVIC is a nonprofit watchdog organization that was created in the early 1980s to prevent vaccine injuries. http://www.cwfa.org/articles/12333/CWA/misc/index.htm
For those in Missouri keep an eye on this one and let these reps know how you feel about them introducing this bill:
